The Pullias Center's Delphi Project on the Changing Faculty and Student Success has many new resources this year for the higher education community. Delphi Project resources have been downloaded more than one million times, making them the most utilized resource on the Pullias Center website and very popular within higher education writ large.

Given the interest in these resources, we have updated a few of our most used resources: VITAL Faculty on our Campus and VITAL Faculty in our Department are planning guides that can be used to change policies and practices to better support contingent faculty. Our new publication "The Role of Academic Affairs in Supporting VITAL faculty on Campus," posits that creating avenues to support VITAL faculty is an essential role for leaders within academic affairs, and particularly those in faculty affairs. Also, be sure to watch our informational video about the Delphi Project. Share this video with your colleagues who are not familiar with issues related to VITAL faculty, and who want a general background about the challenges faced as a result of being contingent faculty.

We will also be releasing two additional reports throughout September: Exploring New Horizons for Designing Sustained PD for VITAL Faculty and Sustained Professional Development for VITAL Faculty: Engagement and Benefits.

FACE Project — New Publications

The Delphi Project also includes the Faculty, Academic Careers and Environments (or FACE) Project, a survey study of faculty nationally. Next month, we'll have a new report available with insights from our pilot project. One key outcome of the FACE project is a new framework for understanding faculty in today’s environment which differs quite a bit from 20 years ago when many of the existing frameworks were developed.  For all interested in understanding faculty, this is a critical resource (available October 2024).
