Description

FosterEd College Navigator is an Amazon Web Services–funded project building an AI-assisted advising tool that expands access to timely, research-informed college guidance for foster youth in California.

About

FosterEd College Navigator supports the development and pilot deployment of an AI-assisted advising tool designed to expand access to timely, research-informed guidance for foster youth navigating postsecondary pathways. The tool offers on-demand support for college choice, financial aid, academic planning and career exploration while reinforcing — rather than replacing — connections to human advisors. By pairing AI literacy with real-world decision-making, the project aims to reduce informational barriers, strengthen self-advocacy, and complement existing advising systems. The pilot will generate empirical evidence on how AI-enabled tools can enhance human advising and improve educational access for system-impacted students.
