Description
This project examines the development, implementation, and policy implications of a statewide Black-Serving Institution (BSI) designation in California higher education.
About
As California considers formal recognition of Black-Serving Institutions, this project studies how such a designation is defined, adopted, and implemented — and what it means for institutional practice and student outcomes. The research examines the policy design and equity implications of the BSI designation and is producing a set of academic and policy publications intended to guide institutions and policymakers.
