Pullias Center and American Council on Education (ACE) join together for latest in the Shared Equity Leadership series
Shared Equity Leadership is a leadership approach that scales diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) work and creates culture change by connecting individual and organizational transformation. As leaders in higher education increasingly recognize the importance of prioritizing DEI on their campuses, so too does their awareness grow for the inherently emotional nature of DEI work.
“Emotional Labor in Shared Equity Leadership Environments: Creating Emotionally Supportive Spaces” is the latest and sixth report in the Shared Equity Leadership series, created by the Pullias Center for Higher Education and the American Council on Education (ACE). The report delves into more detail about specific aspects of the SEL model that help support emotional labor as leaders work collectively to promote equity on their campuses. The report is available for download, here.
On June 15, the Pullias Center and ACE will present the webinar “Creating Emotionally Supportive Spaces Through Shared Equity Leadership,” which will feature reflections from practitioners on the report. Expert panelists will discuss what emotional labor looks like in an environment where responsibility for DEI leadership is broadly distributed. Panelists will also share suggestions for how institutions can better acknowledge and support campus leaders engaged in emotional labor. Registration for the free webinar is now open.
Over the past two years, the Pullias Center and ACE have created an extensive library of research focused on Shared Equity Leadership, with six reports and a practical toolkit available, available for download here.
The Shared Equity Leadership project is funded by grants from the TIAA Institute, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the Arthur Vining Davis Foundation.
