Williams is a doctoral student in the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education in the U-M School of Education, with a focus on academic affairs and student development.
She is broadly interested in research pertaining to the use of antiracist and critical race pedagogy in graduate education. Her specific research is related to socialization in the social work profession with an emphasis on critical consciousness development on topics related to race and racism. Prior to graduate school, Williams worked in student and academic affairs with an emphasis on community participation, dialogue, and facilitation.
She teaches part-time in the School of Social Work and the Community Action and Social Change Minor program as a lecturer on themes related to social justice education and interdisciplinary theoretical approaches to social change.
