Senior Survey Methodologist

Mark Masterton is a senior survey methodologist in the Survey and Data Sciences division at AIR. In this role, he leads and provides survey methodology expertise in all aspects of the survey process: design, implementation, documentation, training, and analysis, with a focus on large-scale research studies with complex sample designs. Mr. Masterton has directed and overseen work on numerous studies, including the National Household Education Survey (NHES) and the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS). Prior to joining AIR, he worked as a Survey Statistician at the US Census Bureau. At the Census Bureau, he served as operations lead for the re-design of the National Teacher and Principal Survey (NTPS), formerly the Schools and Staffing Survey (SASS). He earned a Master of Science in Applied Demography from Florida State University.
