What is a FAFSA PIN?
The FAFSA PIN is a four-digit number that serves as your electronic signature on your FAFSA application. It also lets you access your personal information in various U.S. Department of Education systems. Each student is assigned a unique PIN by the Department of Education. You can apply for your FAFSA PIN at https://pin.ed.gov.
After you receive a PIN, you use it annually to electronically apply for federal student aid and to access your federal student aid records online. You must have a PIN to sign your financial aid application electronically or make online corrections.
Keep this PIN safe and private! It’s the same PIN you will use during your entire college experience.
