College Games

Through our work at USC with students in a face-to-face mentoring program, we understood that many qualified low-income and/or first generation students were slipping through the cracks when it came time to apply to college. These were students who had done well in school, had met college requirements, but who lacked the support and knowledge—at home and/or at school—to successfully complete the college preparation and application processes. A partnership between the Pullias Center for Higher Education and USC’s Game Innovation Lab enabled the creation of a series of game-based tools to engage students in learning about college. Local middle and high school students and educators have been our partners in our quest to design and evaluate useful, effective, and fun games about college and careers.
